New: Forms added to the templates gallery

Friday, November 21, 2008 9:40 AM

We've recently added a whole new section to the templates gallery for form templates. You'll find 13 new forms that cover a wide range of uses including personal health management, improving customer satisfaction and planning a party.

Here are three shining examples:
  • Training for a marathon? Check out the 'Running Log' template below. This will make getting into shape much easier.

  • There's more to life than working out and working, like planning a party. With the holidays around the corner, the 'RSVP form for a Holiday Party or Event' form below will buy you a little more time.

I hope that you get a lot of use out of these new forms. Don't forget that you can either email the form to your respondents directly for them to fill out or embed your form into your website or blog to collect responses online.

Awesome. I haven't tried using a form yet but I will shortly when I ask students to give feedback on the university labs that I teach. I love how all the results will be tabulated for me.

Why don't you make user created/submited templates, and make competition/voting for the best ones.
That way, you get plenty of feedback from users, you promote your product, and get plenty of satisfied users?

Is it me or doesn't Use this template for forms create an associated spreadsheet!
I only get a copy of form but the spreadsheet does not turn up in my Google Docs files list.

Only when I cange the gform parameter in the form URL to ccc the associated spreadsheet shows up. But that's I technical workaround most users won't know about.

I also wonder why the associated spreadsheets don't contain formulas to create summaries and charts...

Forms are great. Can you tell me where templates are hidden? When I go to google docs they are not present ... I have to do a search from google for templates to access them. They don't come up under 'more > even more tab' on my home page.

@Marie Coppolaro
Google'stTemplates are available from the New button e.g. in the Google Docs files list.
I.e. New->From template...

Google Docs team keeps adding more features rather than fixing bugs inherent in Google Documents!

Wouldn't it be better that you allocate those resources in Fixing BUGS before adding new features?

What kind of management is running Google Docs? Incompetent!

Even when other users confirm the bug, the Google Guides don't acknowledge.

We have successfully created a usable survey form, HOWEVER, we want to know how to customize the background color and insert our logo and/or photos to go with the questions. Please help! Thanks!

Really love the forms and the forms from templates, but would really like to be able to customise the templates fo a wedding invitation to keep track of who needs accommodation, car parking, special diet etc.
None of the current templates looks at all themed for a wedding - maybe some silver bells or horseshoes or even red hearts, roses or ribbons.
PLEASE could we have a wedding theme template.
Thanks

From my blog http://people20.blogspot.com/2007/10/wrote-to-gmail-yahoomail-hotmail-to.html , http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dthcr25_155gbfdnd

Google Docs:
a) When I am editing a Google Doc that has images and would like to save an image to my desktop, that is not possible. When I select that image, and right-click mouse, options are to cut, copy, etc image, but not to save image to desktop. So I have to sign out of Google and then view the same doc link in non-editable mode, and then click on image and "Save to Desktop"
b) Copy and paste of Google Doc (containting bold face, italics, etc), onto the Blogger message posting (while creating Blogger message new post), does not work. It copies over text etc, but removes bold face, italics, etc.
c) I would like to embed a Google Spreadsheet within a website page, similar to embedding a presentation like Google Presentations/www.slideshare.net does; that way, people who look at a spreadsheet at the same website in the same window, can view the doc/presentation flip through it, in the same window, without opening another window. This is currently not possible, and new window needs to be opened for Google Spreadsheet or Doc.
