If you look closely in the upper left hand corner of Google Docs later in the day, you'll notice that we've removed the small grey word "beta" from our logo. We're dropped our "beta" label today along with the other Google Apps (Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Talk). You can read more about this change on the Official Google Blog.
Over the past year, we've launched hundreds of features and product improvements to Google Docs, many of which we've documented on this blog and our What's New page. We still have a long "to do" list of features and enhancements that we're actively working on. Look for these changes over the coming months and years.

Congratulations! Google Docs now no longer is labeled.
This comes however at a very unfortunate moment where 'GDocs' appears to be riddled with bugs, even more than ever in an official release.
Which only shows: What's in a name...?
Being a lifelong computer geek, I have often scoffed at the term “Beta”. It has brought to mind ideas of real issues with the software that had its label. Google’s Gmail took away that notion and started to make me think of the “Beta” label as “a work in progress that will keep getting better” or “yeah, here is the software but if you have any ideas through them at us, we are listening”. I suggest you leave the “Beta” label and slap on the words “Proudly in Beta” instead.
What I need is a form that enters sign in times and sign out times for students studying in a lab. I want the form to enter all the particulars for each student, and then add hours for each subsequent sign in/out. Is there a way to construct a form in google docs that will do this? So all students have to do is go back to the link to sign in and out. Please let me know.
Jonathan,
In the absence of a support group that I can contact, and in the absence of an answer in your FAQs, please could you let me know if there is a workaround/solution for the "The server encountered an error. Please try again later." message I get whenever I try to add/remove collaborators from a Google Spreadsheet? Thank you for your advice!
Anthony
Congratulations! Are there any plans to increase the pdf upload limit? 100 was (just) ok for an application in development, but if Google docs is to challenge other office applications, this limit needs to be increased significantly.
i posted the following yesterday in 'troubleshooting' - and in trying to post to forum i keep getting 'can't use this username' (i'm signed in) - what's going on?
the post i made in 'troubleshooting' is:

Spreadsheets - cannot create a New Spreadsheet / can create a New Doc ('Share is active, and Untitled appears) and a New Presentation ('Start Presentation is active and Untitled appears) -- BUT for New Spreadsheet (tried many times and rebooted system and tried more) > 'Share' is greyed out / and no Title appears - the title bar is simply the url /// CANNOT CREATE A NEW SPREADSHEET AT ALL // can enter data in cells - but sheet is dead//
still same problem today / am unable to 'manually' add any title / sprdsheet is untitle-able; therefore unsavable / new doc and new presentation work fine /
AND why am i not able to post anything in Forum
The revision history can still be improved on the spreadsheets.
I can see when cells are edited but it is not visually easy to see which cells / rows have been removed by a previous editor.
The email I get does tell me how many cells / rows deleted though...
Few comments !
"strike" button disappeared, and worse, google docs save my documents every 5 sec or so.
Really annoying to see the "!! SAVING !!" flashing over the screen and stop my typing to load the script, even for a few second.
And another thing, when I take a red pen I want to write in *red*. Even if I click a black text *I still want to write in red*, not in black, jeez.
But very good work anyway, thanks a lot.
Hello, the desciption textarea cannot show chinese characters. All become question marks. Would you please check this question? Cause it worked well before.
Thanks for the great (FREE) apps.
I can not find anymore "Items not in folders" ?!?
I'm using Chrome browser...
Please roll back the old sharing options.
1. doc list view: I want to the with WHOM the docs are shared, not with HOW MANY people.
2. doc view: the new window is too small. I need much more clicks for using sharing controlls, I can't see all option on one page anymore. And I have to scroll inside the overlaying window.
Recently my fraternity - Phi Delta Theta began publishing their quarterly magazine on Issuu.com which has an amazing magazine view. Google should consider this feature along with more functional groups to discuss about the documents. Check it out Google and then implement such a feature that is even better. Maybe even call it Google Magazine?!?
