Starting today, you can preview Google documents, spreadsheets, or presentations right in your Gmail inbox by enabling a new Gmail Labs feature, Google Docs previews.
For more information on Google Docs previews in Gmail, check out the post on the Gmail blog.

I have to say that the Docs team is really getting some work done in the last few weeks! Keep up the good work guys! And when Google Docs gets online storage feature (Gdrive?) and Chrome OS is released, I am prepared to abandon Microsoft for good and move into the cloud! Go Google!
This is gr8 feature FOR ME
Integrate with wave and I will be v happy...synchronise the lot
In light of the unfortunate massive system failure affecting Microsft/Danger and Sidekick users, now would seem to be an appropriate time for the Google Docs team to address data redundancy. I'm sure you do this periodically, but I haven't been able to find any information on what justifies my blind faith in Google's ability to keep my Google Docs content safe and intact. I'd appreciate a note about why I have no worries storing my eggs in your basket.
There is an issue with the published documents that was not fixed in the last few months
instead of working on new features - is there a chance the docs team can fix this issue 1st ?
